Why Your Website Is Bad

Your content is out of date

You’re doing it wrong.

Just like the previous paragraph, I know what you might be thinking. “I can’t just keep adding content to my site.”

Well, you can.

And if you’re building a content website, you should.

But if you’re just adding content to your site, you’re doing it wrong.

Why?

Because you are not providing any value for your visitors.

This could mean that your website is providing an inferior service or it could mean that you are doing it wrong.

For example, I’m writing this paragraph for the people who just read it.

And I’m writing this paragraph for the people who read it and leave.

But I’m also writing this paragraph for the people who read it and don’t leave.

And for the people who read it and leave a comment.

How to Fix It

Too Much Text

It’s really easy to just start writing about whatever you want and you think that you’re going to be great at writing.

I have to tell you though, this isn’t the case.

You see, as you go along, you realize that your writing is too long, not interesting and you realize that you just can’t keep this up.

So what do you do?

Well, you start chopping off some of the words, thinking that you’re just doing it to make it more readable.

Well, you’re not.

The end result is that you’re making your text shorter, not longer.

So, you go ahead and make your text shorter, thinking that it will make your content better.

Well, it doesn’t.

The end result is that you have text that’s so short that it just isn’t interesting.

Add Mobile-Friendly Design

There’s no doubt that if your website isn’t mobile-friendly, you’re losing potential visitors.

If your website is poorly designed, it will be much harder for visitors to find your content.

And, it’s even harder for visitors to find your content when your website isn’t mobile-friendly.

What you

Use Unnecessary Plugins.

You might think that plugins are necessary to make your website look great.

But, what you really need to be doing is trying to make your website look great.

Plugins aren’t the way to go about this.

Sure, you can add plugins that help you make your website look better, but what you really need to be doing is making your website look great.

Plugins are easy to add, but they’re also easy to use.

And, they make it hard for visitors to find your content.

But that’s not the case.

It’s much more than that.

Why?

Because, mobile-friendly means that your content is optimized for mobile.

So, if you’re writing an article, it’s no longer an article, it’s a story.

If you’re making a list, it’s no longer a list, it’s a listicle.

If you’re making a video, it’s no longer a video, it’s a listicle.

You get the point.

Now, you might be thinking “oh, that’s fine. I just add a mobile-friendly version of the website to my website.”

Fix Your Page Titles

Page titles are some of the most important elements on your website.

That’s because search engines and users both use page titles to find and sort your content.

When someone clicks on your website, they expect to see the content on your page.

That means they expect to see the content of the page they clicked on in the order that they see it.

If your page titles don’t make sense, you can expect to see a drop in search engine rankings.

That’s why you need to fix your page titles as soon as possible.

Make sure that every page title you add is relevant and interesting.

Don’t forget to check the page titles of your competitors.

You can see what page titles they’re using and learn from their mistakes.

Fix Your Broken Links.

You might be wondering, “How do I know if my links are broken?”

Fix Your Meta Descriptions

Your meta description is the first thing that visitors will see when they land on your website.

If you don’t know what a meta description is, it’s what appears below your website’s title in search results.

When someone is looking for your website, they type a search query into a search engine and they’re looking for websites that match that query.

When they click on a website that appears in search results, they get a list of websites.

On this list, they have the option to click on the website to read more about it.

If the meta description on the website matches the search query, the visitor is more likely to click on that website.

If the meta description doesn’t match the search query, the visitor is less likely to click on that website.

The meta description is a free, easy way to increase the likelihood that a visitor will click on your website.

How to Create a Well Optimized Site

I love to share tips and tricks on how to optimize your website.

I’d love to know what you think. What are some common mistakes you see when optimizing your site? What do you think I could do to improve the quality of this site?

I’ve read this post before, but never really knew what it was all about.

A:

The headline is wrong. It is not the same as “your site is bad”, it is the opposite:

“Your website is good”

A:

The headline is too long. It is way too long.

I would shorten it to something like:

“Your site is good”

or

“Your site is good, right?”

“Your site is good. I know it.”

The answer is no. It’s not bad. It’s just not good. It is only good.

Set Up a Google Analytics Account

If you haven’t, set one up.”

You have to make the site fast. You have to make it work. You have to make it scalable. You have to make it accessible. You have to make it easy to use. You have to make it fun. You have to make it useful.

You have to make it right.

You don’t have to make it good.

A:

My initial reaction is “it’s not bad”, which I’ve read before, but I don’t understand what it means.

It means your website is not bad. It’s good.

It’s a little longer than “your website is good”, but it’s still not bad.

A couple of quick edits and it’s not bad.

Check Your Pages Performance

The problem with your site is…”

That is just silly. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen a user complain about the site and then come back to say that the problem was the page loading too slow.

If the problem is that the site is slow, then you should fix that first.

Then, after that, you should tell them that the site is slow.

Then you should show them how to fix that.

If you do all that and still have a problem, then it is the page loading too slow.

“Your site is good.”

I would never use this headline.

“Your site is bad. I know it.”

I don’t like this one. It sounds too mean. I don’t like to tell someone that their site is bad. I think that they should figure that out on their own.

Other Good Things To Do.

Blogging

On the one hand, if you’re a blogger you can definitely make a bit of money with blogging. It can be a really good way to make some money from home.

On the other hand, you may not want to do this. You may want to be a full time blogger. You may not want to be a business owner.

The truth is that you may be a good writer, but you may not be good at marketing. And that’s OK. Because you can still make money online with writing.

A blog is a great way to start. It gives you an easy way to get your message out. But there are other ways too.

I used to write a lot. I was always good at writing. But I wasn’t great at marketing.

Content Is King

You are not alone.

I can’t tell you how many times I have to contact a site owner and tell them they are doing it wrong.

I am not the type of person who is going to come to you and tell you you are doing it wrong.

I’m not here to talk about my own site.

What I am here to do is to give you the tools to improve your site so that you can learn to avoid making the same mistakes that I have made in the past.

“A picture says a thousand words”

This is one of my favorite quotes.

I love it because it is true.

Research Content Ideas

I will explain why this is important.

It’s kind of funny, but there are a lot of people who want to know how to write content ideas.

I always get this question in my google searches.

They always want to know how to come up with content ideas that will make them money.

I understand why.

After all, we are all about writing content ideas.

The problem is that I don’t think anyone can come up with content ideas.

It’s just not how it works.

Sure, you can look at content ideas, but you won’t be able to create them.

You will just have to pick them up as you go along.

I really want to write a book.

There are so many things that I want to say.

Research Keywords

I’ve heard it many times but this is a classic example of the problem with the phrase.

The problem is, most people use the phrase to mean “a picture is worth a thousand words”

That’s not what it means.

It means “a picture is worth a thousand words”.

This is a common mistake.

You can’t use it as an ad title.

If you want to get the full 1000 words you need to use a research title that is 100% focused on that phrase.

So let’s say that you want to make a list of things to do when starting a website.

What are the most important things you should do to start a website?

“A picture says a thousand words” is not one of them.

It is a “funny phrase”.

This is not a title that you should use.

You can use a title like this if you want to
